Merger consolidates DA Executive Agency and oversight of Clothing Services with the Army’s
Heraldry Program Mission
EDGEWOOD, Md. – On June 12, 2005, the Installation Management Agency’s Clothing and Services Office
(CSO) became part of TACOM’s Integrated Logistics Support Center Clothing and Heraldry Product
Support Integration Directorate (C&H PSID). As a result of the merger, the CSO now includes the
Army’s Heraldry Program and is called the Clothing and Heraldry Services Office (CHSO).
The CHSO will handle all matters relating to Central Issue Facilities, including input for
development of policies and procedures, and Army Military Clothing Sales Stores, serving as the
functional and technical experts and conducting management assistance visits. This new office will
also develop guidance for clothing issue-in-kind system and serve as the focal point for Clothing
Initial Issue Points. Heraldry responsibilities will encompass not only flags, streamers, medals
and guidons for both Soldiers and veterans, but also the management of the Working Dog Program.
