Army Seeks Help from Industry to Transform the Warfighter

Natick, Mass. --- The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Center is inviting companies of all sizes with applicable technology offerings or systems engineering and integration expertise to learn about new business opportunities at the Objective Force Warrior Pre-solicitation Conference scheduled for Jan. 17-19 at the Westin Waltham Hotel in Waltham, Mass.

The Objective Force Warrior program is charged with developing an overwhelmingly lethal, highly survivable, lightweight, low power, situationally aware, strategically deployable, highly mobile, sustainable and cost-efficient warfighter combat system of systems for Soldiers of 2010 and beyond.

The Center has a requirement for concept development, design, fabrication and delivery of prototypes for an Objective Force Warrior multi-functional combat system of systems at the individual soldier and squad level, and will be host of the event.

In efforts to attract both traditional and non-traditional companies, a new agreements approach will be used with Objective Force Warrior to cut red tape and make it easier for all companies to do business with the federal government.

During this conference, the Army will explain Objective Force Warrior program objectives, highlight relevant ongoing Army and other government agency technology research and development, and provide a forum for industry to team for the effort. Along these lines, interested firms will be given a chance during the conference to present a three to five minute executive summary of their capabilities and interests.

Interested companies are required to submit the name, address, phone number and e-mail address of each person planning to attend the workshop by no later than Jan. 4 to Pat Ross at patricia.ross@natick.army.mil, or by calling 508-233-4606 or 877-283-7798.

A $150 registration fee payable by check or money order to "The Westin Waltham Hotel c/o OFW Pre-solicitation Conference" covers the cost of meals during the two-and-a-half-day event. A special rate for attendees of $109 per night has been set up with the hotel. Reservations can be made by calling 800-937-8461. Please reference OFW Pre-solicitation Conference.

Information regarding this event is available online at www.fedbizopps.gov. Type solicitation No. DAAD16-02-R-0004 in the "search" box.

The formal Objective Force Warrior solicitation is planned for release in early January and will also be available for download on the U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center Natick Contracting Division Web site, http://www3.natick.army.mil/.
