Tech library named after former employee

Natick, Mass. -- The U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick), known locally as Natick Labs, will hold a dedication ceremony of the Natick Soldier Center Memorial Technical Library here at 10 a.m. April 11.

The library will be dedicated in honor and memory of Alvin O. Ramsley, who served from 1953-1983 at the labs as chief of the Counter-surveillance Section. His comprehensive research on individual camouflage is credited with saving countless military lives.

Ramsley was nominated because of his search for and use of knowledge that is the reason technical libraries are created and nurtured, and because of his significant contributions to the U.S. military. Among them are the Army's woodland and new desert battle dress uniform, and counter-surveillance characteristics of tentage and field equipment.
