Congressman Marty Meehan to visit the US Army Soldier Systems Center

NATICK, MA — The U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center (SSC), also known as Natick Labs, will host a visit tomorrow from 9 to 10 a.m. in its Conference Center for Congressman Marty Meehan, representing the Massachusetts 5th Congressional District.

Several presentations are being planned for Congressman Meehan, including: An overview of the SSC, responsible for researching, developing, and integrating food, clothing, shelters, and airdrop items for the entire Department of Defense.

A presentation on the Natick Soldier Center, the research and development organization within the multi-service organization.

An introduction to the National Protection Center, responsible for working with our nation’s first responders to ensure they have the state-of-the-art technology available to them that the SSC develops for its servicemembers.

A presentation of the Objective Force Warrior, a high-tech system being developed for our warfighters of the future.

A discussion of the U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine’s (USARIEM) Warfighter Physiological Status Monitor, designed to provide vital information to the warfighter as well as his command and control organization.

And an overview of Force Provider, a tent city designed to provide quality of life to soldiers in rear, remote areas.
