Date change to display on Soldier technology and chow to Congress
NATICK, Mass. - Please note that Soldier Modernization Day will be held on Thursday, June 17, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the Rayburn Foyer of the House Rayburn Building on Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C.
A session planned for June 14 at the Senate Russell Building has been cancelled and will be rescheduled.
Soldier Modernization Day is an opportunity for Congress to learn why American military forces are the best protected, best equipped and best sustained troops in the world and also how science plays a part in the technology used by our Soldiers.
Representatives from the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Center, the U.S. Army Research Laboratory, the Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center, the Tank-Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center and the Product Manager for Force Sustainment Systems will join forces to showcase items that science has brought to the forefront for our warfighters.
Media are invited to attend this event.
Key items scheduled for display include Meals, Ready-To-Eat (MREs) and Group Rations, Future Warrior Systems, Robotics, Lightweight Weapons, Future Tactical Truck Systems, and HMMWV Armor Survivability Kits. Please note that MREs and rations are only available for sampling from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
