NATICK, Mass. – The U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center (SSC), known locally as Natick Labs, will conduct its annual security exercise on Sept. 15, from approximately noon through 4 p.m.
The purpose of the exercise is to test the responsiveness and capabilities of the SSC and local responders, such as the Natick fire and police departments, for handling a potential high-level threat. All military installations are required to conduct these exercises at least one time per year.
The exercise will result in increased traffic on Kansas Street, where the post is located. Local emergency vehicles will respond to the mock incident at the SSC during the exercise and the post may be closed for a short period of time during the event.
SSC officials are announcing this event to let the installation’s neighbors know that this is an exercise only and that there is no need for alarm.
