U.S. Army Natick Soldier Center joins forces with Mass. Defense Technology Initiative

NATICK, Mass. - The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Center (NSC) and the Mass. Defense Technology Initiative (MassDTI) will sign a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m. in the Soldier Systems Center Conference Center here.

This CRADA will create a formal partnership between the NSC and MassDTI that will allow the organizations to work together to enhance the transition of technology in to and out of the NSC and, as a byproduct, serve to increase economic development in the Commonwealth.

Philip Brandler, director of the NSC, and Alan Macdonald, executive director of MassDTI, will sign the CRADA.

The NSC is responsible for protecting and sustaining America's Warfighters through research, development, and engineering of unique human-centric items and systems such as food, clothing, shelters, airdrop and Soldier support equipment as well as integrating the technologies necessary for the creation of the Soldier System. NSC supports the entire Department of Defense as well as other federal agencies such as NASA and the Department of Treasury.

The MassDTI is a member organization of leading defense technology firms, research facilities, and universities working to establish Mass. as the definitive global leader in the defense technology industry. Its mission is to bolster the competitiveness of the local technology cluster, promote the expansion of new missions at Mass. military installations, enhance the image of the state's defense technology center, and generate growth opportunities for Mass. employers.

Media interested in attending this event should contact the Soldier Systems Center Public Affairs Office at 508-233-5340 to make arrangements to enter the post and cover the signing.
