Soldier continues service to the Army

NATICK, Mass. -- Gen. Benjamin Griffin, commander, U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC), reenlisted one of the Headquarters Research and Development Detachment (HRDD) Soldiers during a ceremony here on Jan. 19.
SGT Willette Gittens, Personnel/Operations noncomissioned officer for HRDD, said she decided to reenlist because she is "making the military her career."
Gittens has been in the Army for five years and has been stationed at the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center (SSC) in Natick for approximately 2 1/2 years.
Her husband, Samuel, attended the ceremony, along with Brig. Gen. R. Mark Brown, commanding general, SSC; Command Sgt. Maj. Daniel K. Elder, AMC; Sgt. Maj. Elisabeth Jones, AMC's Command Career Counselor; Sgt. Maj. Thomas Coleman, SSC; and other distinguished guests.
Gittens reenlisted for four years. Her next assignment will be in Hawaii, where her family will accompany her.
